I'm not new to Atkins, but I'm new here. I'm a refugee from another low carb board where I apparently wasted five years of my life. Low carb cooking has become a hobby of mine and if you do a google search for Klingon Blood Stew, my recipe will come up at the top of the heap. I have bunches of goodies that I'll be posting in the future.

About me: I'm a broadcast journalist working for an international news agency based in Washington DC. I've done about every job there is to do in a radio or TV station. I was really gaining weight after I changed from an active job chasing down stories in the field to a job sitting at a desk for 10 hours a night writing stories others reported. Atkins straightened me right out. I not only lost the weight, I felt better and was able to better endure the punishing hours. You'll hopefully see me around.

    Welcome Bruce to ha !

It will be great to have another experienced low carb chef in our Food section, Getting a new source of recipes (even Klingon ones ) is always a good treat for me. There is always something else to learn from an experienced Atkineer. Anyhow welcome again to the board -- I hope you find them as supportive and beneficial as I have.

      Welcome to ha Bruce!!!

I think you'll find we're different from most Atkins boards -- we'll keep you on the straight and narrow, hold you accountable, and scream BUY THE BOOK at you if you don't have one! But it's a GOOD thing! But more than anything else, we're here to cheer you on to success.

Take a minute and add your specs to your profile -- you'll see the PROFILE button at the top of the page. If you have questions, it's easier for us to answer if we know: Your start date and weight, your current weight, and your goal weight, like this:

      01/08/04 SW###/CW###/GW###

If we can help you in any way, let us know!

Hi Bruce, I am sooooo glad that you found us. :wave :wave :wave

We have the most active food and recipe section and hope you become very active there as we can always use more recipe ideas.

We only discourage using frankenfoods for a number of reasons. 1) we have a lot of international folks who just can't fine most of those products 2) we believe they are mostly junk food and whats the point switching one junk food for another and 3) Cause real food is way healthier.

              Welcome,welcome welcome.
