It has been so helpful reading your posts for the last 6 weeks. I wanted to read and digest the Atkins New Diet Revolution Book and complete the#36-6 Week Exercise Challenge before joining in the discussions. The exercise challenge was so helpful with motivation. Thank you, Skyye, for doing the record keeping.
A little about me. I live in New York City and and have been married to a great guy for 20 years. While not overweight in the past, I gained 40 lbs during the last 2 years. Both my parents are seriously overweight. My Dad had bypass surgery and lost 100 lbs but is still obese. My Mom is obese and diabetic and has many health problems as a result. I saw my future in them if my lifestyle didn't change.
After doing a little research, the Atkins lifestyle of climbing the carb ladder, finding a ccl, mandatory exercise, and eating to satisfaction made sense to me. Slow weight loss seems to be my MO, as only 2 lbs came off during induction and 4 more lbs during the exercise challenge, but inches are melting off and I feel mentally better by taking steps to health.
Anyway, it is so nice to join such a supportive and dedicated group of people. I am a little shy and still learning about this WOL but will try to join in, too. Looking forward to supporting fellow ADBBers as we strive to reach our goals.
