• HELP!!!!!

hi out there. I'm new to this diet & a little confussed. During the into I read no more then 20 gr. of carbs a day. I love yogurt are the low carb ones ok? like hood 3 grams. And what besides eggs does one eat for breakfast. I have to go to the office so what can I take with me. This part is the most confussing. I usually bring oatmeal or a yogurt but now can I have them or not. HELP this part I feel will make me or brake me.

You can bring hard-boiled eggs. A better idea is to plan your day to give you time to eat a good breakfast before work. Yogurt is not on the induction list. Have you read the book? It isn't only the number of carbs you eat, but the type of carbs. You want to stay away from anything that will cause a sudden rise in blood sugar.

Thanks BruceH...I'll try the hard boiled egg thing I get up too early for a breakfast at home (5am) . And I guess I could do almost anything for two weeks. Just wish there were more choices.

Print off the Acceptable Foods List -- there's a LOT of choices, you just have to stop thinking "breakfast foods" and think "food" instead I don't eat eggs, but I will eat flax crackers with tuna for breakfast, or leftover chicken wings or pork chop from dinner the night before!

We've been trained our whole lives to believe that only certain foods -- bread, cereal, eggs, sausage, bacon -- are for breakfast. But think "outside the box" and just eat any foods from the Acceptable Foods List that you like!

yep look at the foods lists and plan to have something ready to go in the morning many folk cook extra dinner and have reheated left overs for Breakfast you could make the danish and put it in the frige then reheat it at work. recipe in in the data base as Mock Danish and I suggest you try it at home first in case you don't like the protions you chose when fixing it.

If you have a microwave you could cook something there. If you are one of our constipated inductees you could have hot flax meal cereal using 1-2T of flaxmeal with 1/4 c of water to start and thinning it to your tastes.

There are lots of possibilities. You are limited in your choices on in your mind. Just look at all those foods on those lists you could never have the same meal twice in an entire yr.

Sliced ham and cheese roll-ups? Cheese crackers made from cheese, (recipe in database). Induction Friendly Portable Inside Out Omelet (in the recipe database) Bren's Breakfast squares (in the recipe database).

Just go to the Recipe database and click on Breakfast Beginnings.. Lots to choose from.

Try to avoid packaged foods as much as possible. Read DANDR 2002 edition. Eat nothing that isn't on the acceptable foods list. Drink lots of water. Start an exercise regimen. Lots of challenges all over the boards. Measure yourself before you begin. You'll thank yourself later when the scales aren't moving.

Welcome to ADBB and good luck to you with your new WOL!!

              First, welcome to the board!

Breakfast is my problem meal too, so I can relate. I don't eat eggs. But you could get some microwavable sausages (that's one I do). Or as was said before, don't eat "breakfast food". The other day I had a cheesburger for breakfast (because I needed to go shopping).

If you can get past that everything else should click.

              Good luck!

thank you one and all. It's nice to know your not alone out there. As we speak I'm going into the breakfast list. I know that i'm just going to have to think outside of the (cereal) box Ha Ha..... Well wish me luck. Mondays is the day that my phase 1 goes into effect. This week I cleaned out the frig, and stocked up on the food that is listed. So there will be no devils to tempt me. On a scale of one to ten my willpower is 2. Right now I'm roasting a chicken & steaming some veg. For lunch, dinner and who knows maybe breakfast although i can't see me eating a chicken leg at 5:30. But who knows!. And during the week i'll tell you of my progress. And again, thanks soooooo much!!!
