  • Hello, My name is James and I'm a Carboholic...

    Hi everyone. Just thought I'd introduce myself. I'm 27 years old and I've fought a weight problem most of my life. I've practiced Martial Arts off and on for about 12 years and would like to begin training again after about 3 years off. I've tried lots of diets and I've been on exercise programs that would drop Marine Corp drill sergeants. The only "diet" that has ever worked for me has been low carb / Atkins. I begain dieting at the beginning of this year and managed to lose 55lbs by mid April but I've sadly slipped back into bad habits and now I'm trying to get myself back on track. So heres my stats:

    Stat Weight: 270lbs
    Goal Weight: 200lbs
    Current Weight: 234lbs

    Hey dragon! Welcome! Was there a specific incident that made you go back to poor eating habits? The good news is that you're back on track, and you lost lots last time, surely you can do it again! Come around the board often, it's a great way to keep yourself accountable. Join some challenges, make yourself involved, all of that will help!

      I was actually put on a 12 hour night shifts 7 Days a week at work and always seemed too tired to exercise and slowly but surely my eating habits started slipping too as I was too tired to cook as well. My other problem with eating habits is I married a picky eater and all my children are picky eaters as well so I usually end up eating a whole seperate meal than they do

        Sounds like a lot of challenges in your life... Night shift is very hard! But studies do show that exerisize helps you with that kind of upsidedown lifestyle... make sure you get some sunshine everyday too. Good luck! You've come a long ways and made a ot of progress! At least you didn't gain it all back! lol!

          I hear that, I'm forever making 2 meals! One of the tricks to staying the course is to have stuff handy to grab when you need it! And wow, you work long hours!

            Welcome! I tried martial arts for a while, enjoyed it but then I moved and couldn't keep it up.

                    Hi James, and welcome!

                    You lost 55lbs from Jan to April??? WOW! You deserve a big pat on the back for catching yourself before you gained all the weight back. You haven't been away from Atkins long, so jump right back on that horse. You sound determined, so I know you'll do great.
