    Re: question about induction

if you're eating your veggies (and its not all lettuce!!) then you're good! i averages around 12-15 during induction!

    www.tickerfactory.com - for a ticker

how much do you have to lose? i cant guess how much you will lose because everyone is different, i had around 100 pounds to lose, i think i lost 20 during my first month, but if you have less to lose, you'll lose it slower!

        Re: question about induction

Hi there and welcome to ADBB. Lettuce has very few carbs and not too many nutrients. Try out other veggies like broccoli, cauliflower, tomoatoes, etc. It's all in the book. You can also track your carbs and everything you eat in FitDay.com

        Good luck to ya!

          Re: question about induction

Hiya and welcome! Congrats on your great start. Also, congrats on your starting exercise right off.
Do you have lots to lose, or just a few lbs? The amount/speed you lose can depend among other things on the amount you have to lose. The more lbs you need to shed, the faster will be the initial losses. There are plenty of other factors too that affect weight loss, such as metabolism, amount of exercise, gender, age... it's all very individual.

Have you read the book? Dr Atkins New Diet Revolution, 2002 edition is the one you should go for if you haven't.

          Happy losing!

            Re: question about induction

Welcome to the board! You've done really well so far.

Emma is right, you should definitely be eating between 12-15 veggie carbs per day. I don't see shy you would want to eat less than the prescribed amountof carbs (20 per day). Eating fewer carbs is not going to make you lose any faster and out bodies need carbs. The purpose of this is to retrain yourself to eat from every food group eventually, but the fight kind of carbs. This is not a no carb eating plan!

Also, everyone loses weight at a different rate, I would say you're doing just fine!
