Hi all. I have been lurking for about 1month and have learned so much from youall. First and formost... this is a place for success. I love that.
About me... I am a sah mom of 3 kids 14,12 and 8. Happily married. I have not posted before this because part of me feels i dont really belong here because i have less to loose than many... but I have decided my struggles are just as real and I just cant believe how much I relate to all on the board. I have just under 10 lbs.. hence my name. I have done 14 days induction.... and can NOT believe how great I felt.. then went up a rung and sort of fell apart. I stalled... because i was not being careful. I have been doing it sort of half a&*ed for awhile, but I can tell by all your posts.. that is not a way to do it at all. What i noticed the most when i was doing it correctly was... the clarity i had in my everyday life.
Today i have to start over, but... I have company in for the week and it is so hard to focus on TWL. HEELLLLPPPP

it is completely normal to stall after induction, dont stress it and carry on, your body will fill the empty fat cells with water and wont let go until it knows your serious!!

Stay strong girl! Good luck to ya!!

Welcome, 10togo! I just (this morning!!!) broke my post-induction stall, so I know how you feel. Hang in there, stick with the plan, and above everything else--EAT! ) Having company is always stressful, no matter how much you love your guests, so try to be good to yourself.

      Good Luck!

Welcome Jeannie! Stick with it... as Emma says, a stall after induction is very, very common. If you follow the plan as laid out, you'll soon start losing again, I'm positive.

          Keep us posted!

Hi Jeannie. You don't need to feel uncomfortable that you don't have all that much to lose. It's all relative! We're all here because we have weight issues and want to learn to eat healthy and properly! That's why the support is so amazing. Like minded people.

              Enjoy your company!

Re: starting over and over and over

thank you all for the warm welcome. I have been very lucky this week, my company actually agrees with the idea of low carbing. So I have not had to defend the way I eat. Thank you silly girl for understanding about how it is all relative. I KNOW i am in the right place because everything everyone is talking about i relate to. Question for all of you...
because i did a successful induction then sort of fell apart, ate sort of low carb, but didnt follow the plan, should I be back at induction or should i start up the ladder??

Re: starting over and over and over

First, in your situation, I would only induct for maybe a day or two just to get back in the swing of things, depending on how badly you "low carbbed"! It is important to move on up the ladder. People tend to start losing even more weight when they do.

The board is overwhelming because there's so much to see and read. For sure you should go to the FAQ's (way up top) as there's tons of stickies there that will help you. Also the Induction forum is a great place to start. Read all of the stickies you can!

Come join some of the challenges! There's a 6WEC that's already started, but you can always start in the middle to get yourself going for the next one. There's a weekly pedometer challenge also, and a ton more so go look at the challenges/exercise challenge forums too!

hi 10togo, maybe you could stay on induction for longer than 14 days. I re-read the book and it says that you can stay on for up to 6 months and that if you only have a small amount to loose it's probably best to stay on longer. I am also a stay at home mom of 3 and I work from home. I just joined this buletin on 7/29 and someone suggested that I start a thread on the forum that interested me most. I did that and I also just browse around and reply in other forums. good luck!

Sorry to correct you meaty, but Dr. A says if you have a lot of weight to lose it's okay to stay on extended induction (page 159). With only a small amount of weight to lose, you actually want to get to pre-maintenace as soon as possible.

Youre right, I have a lot to loose so I'm staying on for 60 days. She would be the opposite. Good eye sillygirl!
