  • Hello everyone im new to the group

    Isn't this diet wonderful I've been on it for 3 days and have lost 4 pounds without starving to death this is to good to be true. I can't wait to see how much weight i will lose after the 2 weeks is up. I do have a question though when should you start excercising and will it make you gain weight from muscles I don' want to make any mistakes.

    Welcome to ADBB! yes this diet is GREAT isnt it?

    theres no harm in exercising straight away, especially cardio! you dont really gain weight from muscle, a pound of fat covers a much greater area than a pound of muscle does!

    i suggest taking your inches on www.fittogether.net and measuring in on your weigh day! as the inches mean far more than pounds!!

      Welcome to ADBB

      Yes this is a fab WOL!

      I agree with Emma - exercise can be started straightaway and it will really help to shift fat. Lots of people seeme to start out with cardio like walking, running, stairs, elliptical, swimming, etc and then add weights in later. There is no reason not to do both at the start however as weights and resistance will make you look more toned and means you burn more fat just sitting around

      If you have access to a class like bodypump I would totally recommend it - great for toning!

      But at the start anything that gets you out of breath and sweaty is great

        Hello there Roseland and welcome!

        Yes... start exercising as soon as you can. Even if you do make muscle.. and that causes a scale blip for a short time, it's because muscle takes up less space than fat... i.e. a lb of muscle is much smaller than a lb of fat, so if the scale is up due to muscle... then inches will probably be down, which is great! Exercising is a win win thing!

          Welcome Roseland, and congrats on your 4 lbs in 4 days! Isn't Atkins great? You'll have a blast updating your stats

          Exercise away! My scale had a small upward blip when I started exercising the day before I was out of induction, but it went back down (and lower) within a few days. Inches, too! Are you measuring yourself?

            Hi Roseland, welcome! 4 pounds in 4 days is a pound a day! Woo Hoo! There are plenty of challenges going on, look around and join in! Exercising is important. You don't need to become a body builder or anything, just something to get you moving!
