    Whats up all? I am doing the atkins. I am 31 years old, and I live PA. My name is Vincent...Recently I was on a similar "diet" for the past 8 months, it was a high protein, low carb one, but it wasnt cutting it. I did lose about 60 lbs, but it stopped there. Now I've jumped into the atkins program. I've just completed my first week of induction. Its good, after day 3, I noticed that I wasnt hungry, nor did I crave food like I normally did in the past, and If someone asked are you hungry or want something to eat, I was honestly able to say, "no, I'm not hungry". Anyhow, I am glad someone posted these forums on the main atkins site so I can find it. Have a great day!

        Welcome Vincent! Mega congrats on your 60 lbs gone! Wow!

        I love the fact that my hunger has gone bye-bye. I sometimes have to remind myself to eat!

              Hello Vincent. It sure sounds like you're doing just fine so far. You're already used to low carbing, and half way done with induction, the rest should be a breeze for you. Best of luck and success!

                Yeah I've been low carbing, but not as like the atkins plan. Anyhow, I just got those sticks to see how far I am in ketosis (Sp?) and after 5 days, im in small. So I hope it increases....

                  Don't worry about the color on the ketosticks. Either your in ketosis, or you're not. Anything pinker than beige is good! Some say that when the color is darker purple, that's an indicator that you're not drinking enought water.

                      hmm wow, didnt know that. My g/f is on Kimkins and she is often in the purple. She drinks lots of water

                        Everybody's body is different! This is what I've heard around the board. Personally, I'm never higher than the second lowest color, it'a all good to me!

                          Enjoyed reading your intro. I am back on Atkins too and am going to complete my 1st week of Induction tomorrow (Sunday). Like you, I cannot believe how much I am in control of what I choose to eat or not eat. I made dinner for my kids and then dished out some delish ice cream for them ---------total control which is so uncharacteristic of me. It's almost like I'm taking an appetite suppresant as I can watch other people eat pizza, ice cream, whatever and say no and mean it.

                          Dr.s scale: 163/156-Day 18
                          Startover date: 9/17/07. Weight is 155. Goal is 135
                          Startover date: 1/19/08 Weight is 162. Final goal is still 135.
                          Startover again date: 6/7/08 Morning weight is 168 (home scale). Same final goal=135 or size 8 whatever happens first!

                          1st mini-goal is 159
                          2nd mini-goal is 155
                          3rd mini-goal is 150- I will schedule a massage
                          4th mini-goal is 145
                          5th -mini-goal is 140
                          Final goal is 135--hope to meet by 8/7/08

                            wow. nice job. I noticed I am able to brush off certain foods as well. Like yesterday morning I went to the waffle house and had an omlet with cheese and asked for NOTHING else. BUT ofcourse they gave me 4 pieces of toast and all these hash browns to choke a horse. I simply ignored it on the plate, ate my omlet, and then proceeded to push the plate forward and sit back and let it be taken away!
