  • Hi from So Cal

Hi all-- I am a second time around-er having lost 25 lbs. in 2002. I know one of my main problems was that I was afraid to let myself go off induction and did not move through the phases correctly. Consequently, I went back to old habits. So that is my main goal this time; to make this a WOL b/c it is the ONLY thing that works for me.

I am 37; married 9 years; two kids ages 4 and 5. I am a stay-at-home mom and I finally joined a gym this year so I've been enjoying taking classes and working out. I also have hypothyroid and want to post a recent experience with a doctor (who suggested I only eat 800 calories a day in order to lose weight), but I'll do that over on the thyroid forum.

I really enjoy reading everyone's posts, especially the recipes. New recipes are going to be key to me succeeding for a lifetime. I'm on day 10 of re-Induction and am down 8 lbs.--even a better loss than my first time on Induction! Looking forward to meeting some friends!

Welcome Baby! You're doing very well... congrats! Even more congrats for deciding to make this a way of life rather than a diet. That's the path to permanent success.

800 cals a day sounds way too low to me! Will be interested to read about that over in the thyroid forum.

Ask any questions you might have... we're here for you and rooting for you!

FYI, cauliflower is my new favorite item. Faux potato salad tastes just like the real thing, the mockafoni and cheese w/ cauliflower is quite awesome as well!

Yes, I'd love to experiment with cauliflower--I know that's probably the closest thing to potatoes as I'll get. Are those recipes in the links you listed? I love grilling also, especially peppers and eggplant with olive oil, garlic and lemon pepper....I'd love to find some new grilling ideas. I have a stack of recipe cards here and every time I come across a tasty looking post I'm adding it to my collection!

Yes, they are for sure in Linda's site. There are so many people trading recipes around here. Be sure to trade yours as well. We tend to get creative eating this way!
