  • Hello from South Carolina

Hello, I am 27 and am from SC. I have a wonderful son and husband. I was always relatively thin until my last two years of college. I ate when I could and whatever was available....usually food from the vending machine. I was gaining weight slowly, but it wasnt until I went home last Summer( I am in SC but originally from GA) and everyone kind of made comments. I knew I was having to buy larger clothes, but I couldnt really SEE the weight. Well, I started my first teaching job, and some of my students made little comments when they would look at the picture of my husband and me that sits on my desk. ( the pic was a few years ago when I weighed about 135) Well I researched this diet and read hte book that my cousin gave me. He lost about 80 pounds in 1 year. Well I finally started 1-3-05. Since then I have been drinking lots of water and exercising. I will weigh next week, but I can already tell a great difference! Im honestly in a better mood, and the headaches have went away! I do want the sweets when I see them, but if I hurry and eat something thats acceptable, I feel better Ive been reading this board for days now, and I find it extremely beneficial...Thanks!!!

Thanks everyone! I have to admit that I weighed last night! I know that I should have waited for the full two weeks, but I had to know! Well... On my 9th day of induction, in the evening, after I had eaten, I have lost 7 pounds!!! I was very happy! Again, Thanks for all the nice welcomes!! Talk to you all later :joy

Shirley: Welcome!! And ditto what everyone else has said.

I am in a "conventional wisdom" busting kinda mood, so I just wanted to add that for me it is more important to gauge success based on how I feel (more energetic, less headaches, better sleeping, etc.) rather than that daily urge to weigh myself to see what the numbers say. I think you will find in the next few weeks that you agree with me: even if I never lose another pound eating this way, I am way happier with how I feel.

Keep up the great work...sounds like this WOE really works for you and you will enjoy a lot of success!
