  • Good morning...here i am :)

    Just wanted to introduce myself....

Today is Thursday, which i know is usually not a typical day to start a "diet," but for me, it's day one of induction.

I've been reading the first atkins book, and i've browsed through the atkins for life publication.

so here i go...i woke up this morning deciding that this will be day one of a change. and i have a feeling it won't be easy, considering i absolutely adore bread, rice, and fluffly mashed potatoes :anger lol

5'7", 155lbs...........goal is 120 and being able to run like i used to

thanks for letting me say hi

Welcome to the board Nursek. There is no time like the present for joining and it doesnt matter if you choose a Thursday or any other time to start.

I'm just glad you have made the decision to jump in.

Just take it a day at a time, eventually you will wonder what the fuss is all about with bread, rice and potatoes as your tastes will change.

    Take care and good luck.

It never ceases to amaze me of how easy and how effective this ***diet*** is!!

I have since re-gained a bit of weight, but that is soon to be coming off again!

      nursek,

Good for you for making the decision to take back control of your life. I can relate, I was the biggest bread/rice/pasta junkie. But I got better and you will too. Do I still want these things every once in a while? Sure! But I feel better than I have in years (and I still have a long way to go).

Someone had a quote here, and it still floats around. "Nothing tastes as good as being thin feels." I use that to get past a lot of the old ways!

Good luck, and keep us informed how you're doing!
      Jim
