      Re: first timer

Heya Tina... welcome aboard! Glad you found us here.

My tips for you as a first timer would be: 1) Get and read the book (Dr Atkins New Diet Revolution. 2002 edition) if you haven't already done so. 2) Do as clean a two week induction as you possibly can.
This last is important as by the weight you lose during the first two weeks, you will be able to guage your critical carb level for losing, further on in the programme. It'll also give you an idea of your degree of metabolic resistence to weight loss. A clean induction also hits the carb cravings a mighty blow!

      Happy Atkineering!

Edited to add: Oooops, sorry! I just noticed you asked for "exercise" tips, not just general tips. In that case, as I'm no exercise expert (I just huff and puff a lot when I do it, without knowing the science behind what I do ) I'd limit myself to advising you to join a challenge or two. They're good fun and surprisingly motivating.

Hi Tina! Welcome. You've set a reasonable goal for yourself to lose weight. Now, you just need to get one with eating Atkins style.

I agree with Sally, buy the book if you haven't already. To really do this right, it's important to have a full understanding of how this works. Come around the board often with any questions you may have. Best of success to you.

                Welcome to the !!!

For exercise I recommend, as some others did, joining an exercise challenge or two. They motivate me to keep exercising.
                HAPPY HOLIDAYS!
