  • Oh My!!!!

Introduction There is not much to say really other than I am "squishy".

    AND...........

Oh my this is really hard. Ok so I started on Wednesday of last week and was doing great, well that isn't really true....starting on Friday I got really bad cravings. *Usually night time AND I think that I have conditioned myself to think "YaY its the weekend time to eat!!! " Last night I succombed to a 1/2 peanut butter sandwich, doritto's (probably 13) AND cheesecake.

So I guess that define's me, because that is who I am one ....continuous diet after another.

How long do the cravings actually last, I am telling you last night was the worst. I think it had to do with me being extremely tired too. I woke up this morning with really bad heartburn....I am sure from all the carb's.

I just want to be free .... I am tired of always searching for something to take away all of my dietary baggage. I want to be able to do all the things that excess weight prohibits you from doing.

Hat's off to all of you! I have read and read all the inspirational stories and I hope to become one.

    Hi CYn
    Hi and welcome
Most people say their cravings lessen after3 days. Its hard to get there abut each day after that gets easier. At the end of the 2 week induction you will have a whole new control.

        Hi Cyn,

Welcome to the board. My cravings were under control after the first week. However, everybody is different. Just take one day at a time. It was to hard for me to imagine ever not having sugar. So I just took it day by day. Now I don't think about it anymore. Good luck. I look forward to hearing about your weight loss journey.

Hiya Cyn! Good to have you with us.

Don't worry... we've all been there. The sooner you take control (as you are doing) of your eating you'll begin to reap the benefits. We'll help you through the first few days... and all the way to goal!
You'll find that what Laurenfra says is true... after the first few days, when "induction flu" passes (that's your body weaning itself from the carbs) your cravings will lessen and you'll have lots more energy. It's so worth hanging in there.

Post lots, make friends on the board and maybe join an exercise challenge or two. Lots of fun and motivating stuff here at ADBB!

          Happy losing!

Hi Squishy! Welcome to you. Everyone is different in the craving department, but usually after a few days when you're in ketosis, the craving won't be so bad. You gotta stick it out! The point is to rid your body of carbs and avoid sweet things so that the cravings will stop. Best of luck to you!

              Re: Oh My!!!!

Ok WOW thanks to all those who replied! Funny thing is I started back to work today AND one of the women who work for me is doing Atkins!!!! She brought string cheese today for her to snack on and shared with me! So anywho we decided to stick together if we come in contact with any "low-carb" haters.

              Anyway thanks all !

It's great to have a real live buddy to do this with! I guess it's your turn to share a legal snack with her tomorrow!
