    Hello From Colorado

    Hello All,
    My name is Abel and I'm 39 years young from Northeastern Colorado. I started the Atkins way of life November 21, 2003 with a start weight of 195 lbs. At that time I was wearing 38 size pants and sporting X-large shirts. I reached my goal of 150 lbs July 9, 2004. I now wear large shirts and my jeans size is 32. Wow it's great to be able to wash/dry my clothes instead of wash/hang dry... :dancingb:
    Today, I'm still at my goal weight and I'm really looking forward to getting to know everyone :wave
    I do have one question though...
    Am I the only person who has to order from the internet/mail order to get products in a lot of recipes that I have seen posted? Mostly are for pies, cookies and cakes...Wal-Mart is the only place I've been able to find a very, very few items here in Northeastern Colorado. No other place here carries any low-carb products...
    Sorry it's taken me so long to post as this has been a very busy last couple of months with the holidays and all.

    Whoohooo on your weight loss. My DH started out at 205 in Aug of 2003 and reached his goal of 150 in March of 2004. He has maintained that ever since. Wish I could say that about myself. lol

    Come on out and post on the boards. Get to know everyone. We're pretty friendly here.

      Welcome ElwayFan, glad you posted and the answer to your question is no, your not the only one. Many of us live in areas where low carb is unheard of, Japan for one. Anything we want has to be ordered online and actually its pretty good as the price is right.
      Make sure you check out the boards store as Tom always has some great sales going on.

        welcome to the board. don't use low carb products but do order the sepcial stuff for baking like corn bran and polydextrose and WPI

          Welcome to the board and congartulations on meeting goal! I wish I was there.

          As far as the baking products, I have had luck at Whole Foods, you might also look at GNC. I don't know if either are out there.

            Welcome to the boards! Your question made me giggle: We have several "low carb marketplaces" here in Louisville, Kentucky...but I find better prices online. So I don't think you are really missing much! I usually feel bad because an acquaintance of mine recently opened a retail store near me...but her prices are really high, so I try not to frequent it!

            I still cannot believe how much money I end up SAVING eating this way. In the big picture my family is eating better and I am spending less money on junk food.

            But I am an online shopping junkie worse than most...just love the convenience!
