Hi Everyone!
I have been a member for a while, but missing in action due to severe health problems. Now that I have it somewhat under control. I'm ready to participate much more.
I've been cheat free 99% of the one year, 11 months and 13 days of my journey on Atkins. Problem is, I've been stalled most of the last year. I go down a few pounds, that inspires me to try even harder; next thing you know--BAM!--up five pounds!
I go as low as 178 and have been back up to as much as 187! I'm tired of playing around! It seems that if I add any fruit (cantaloupe, berries or peaches) my weight loss not only comes to a screeching halt, I start gaining. Sooo--no fruit for me. I also don't seem to tolerate even flax meal. I've had to remove all dairy, except for very occasional cream cheese and heavy cream. I took natural peanut butter out of my diet months ago. I only eat tree nuts (black walnuts, pecans, almonds & Brazil nuts) and raw pumpkin seeds a couple times a month, but that seems to be too much. The only two foods that I truly overeat are tomatoes and green beans! Tomatoes are my very favorite food in the world, and fresh green beans out of the garden come in at a close second.
I also may be eating too much protein, so I will increase fat and cut back on meat portions.
I do have many symptoms of underactive thyroid, but have had to wait eight months for an appointment with the best endocrinologist at University of Virginia Health Systems. I go to see her on Thursday of this week. Hope she is able to help.
I have tweaked my WOE 40 ways from Sunday to see if I could get a steady weight loss going again, so now it's back to strict induction for 14 days, again. I don't know what else to do. Yesterday was my first day on induction, though that's the way I eat most of the time.
See ya around the forum!
Sunny!
