Hi. First post but have lurked for months. Quickly. On Adkins for 5 months and have lost 54 lbs. SW 282 CW 228 GW 200. 52 year old male. 5' 11". Since starting Adkins I have stopped my daily insulin, as well as a daily blood pressure pill. Blood sugar and blood pressure consistantly normal. History: Had triple bypass heart surgery in April 2005 which was completely successful with NO heart damage. I currently power walk 1 1/2 miles 5 days a week and never eat anything after 9:00 PM. Seems to be coming off pretty good at this point and looking forward to reaching my goal and going on maintenance. Thanks all for the valuable info you guys put up. It has helped tremendously.

Re: Newbie BUT 5 months on Atkins!
Thanks you guys for the warm welcome. I have to admit that reading about all of you guys is truly an inspiration. SSC I've looked at it this way. I refuse to take an injection everyday so I can eat bread. No way! (which is what I was doing, unknowingly.) It helps to know that I won't stray because I have no choice.
