  • Finished induction today!

Hi, I'm new to the Bulletin Board--but I've been looking in for answers to my questions during Induction. The info here was so helpful. I guess I did it right, because I lost 8 lbs. Looking forward to losing 20 more.

I kept things pretty simple during induction so I wouldn't make a mistake. But now going to try figuring out OWL and hoping I won't stop the burn! Thanks again for all the variety of info here--Burns

Hi Burns....Congratulations on completing induction and moving on to OWL. You'll have a lot more choices and train yourself to become more comfortable with your new WOE.

Here is a great link that explains the OWL process in simple terms. http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.c...ead.php?t=5516

Thanks so much--you're right, that link is really helpful. I feel like a lot of people whose posts I have read--I don't want to mess with success. But guess that I am allergic/intolerant of wheat and sugar--my bad tummy symptoms are now gone. So those foods will never come back in my diet. I had the "flu" really badly first week, but I have so much more energy and less "loggy" for about a week now. Appreciate all the help from everyone's posts!

Welcome! I'd say if you only have 28 pounds, total, to lose, 8 pounds during Induction is AWESOME! You're gonna love this WOE (way of eating)!

I agree already with that. Its getting easier every day--such a relief not arguing with myself and losing over every temptation as I've done for a couple of years now. Always promising "tomorrow will be different". Now, at least for two weeks, it HAS been different and I can see results too. That helps.

            Thanks for encouragement!

              Re: Finished induction today!

Hiya lburns. Welcome to the board! Congrats on your success so far! Seeing those lbs drop right from the start is tremendously motivating, don't you think?

You've made a very wise decision in moving to OWL... particularly as you don't have a huge amount to lose. It takes time to move up through the rungs, find your CCLL (critical carb level for losing) and get to know which foods affect you adversely.
Don't be afraid of OWL though... you still get to lose, and often people actually lose more - particularly on the first rung, which is more veggies.

Be aware that as you get nearer your goal though, your losses will slow down. This is totally normal, though it can be a bit frustrating.

Have you read the book? If not, then you want the 2002 edition of Dr Atkins New Diet Revolution. That's the one this board follows as it was the last one that Dr A wrote entirely before his death, so hasn't been "messed around with" by others.

Looking forward to following your journey to a trimmer figure!

Congratulations on your terrific start! Good for you for doing a clean induction. Do move up to OWL. You will find the variety of foods better, and you will continue to lose weight!
