    Hello every one,
    My name is Mrs. Shannon and I have been a member of this board for a while. I must say that I had been on and off Atkins but this time it is really sticking. I restarted June 6 2007 and have not fallen off the wagon....and dont intend to.
    I started at 260 lbs and am currently down to 223 lbs. I have not done strick induction. I honestly went on to incoorporate what worked for me. I waited until the 14 days was up and decided to add fruit. I know that is not the Atkins way but I would rather eat some fruit instead of a whole pie if I am craving something sweet.
    I have not started to exercise until recently. What I have noticed is that I do stall at times , but I get over the hump when I add veggies and protein to the main stay of my plan.
    So to sum it up I am not following strict Atkins but I am following his plan and that has helped greatly. I do not feel deprived....when I am tired of stalling then pretty much I go back to an inductionesque way of eating( protien veggies and water) and drop down. My locarb routine keeps my carbs at about 40-60 carbs a day if that.I feel good though so here is to my goal

    Good to see you Shannon and a lot less of you too. Congrats on your weight loss so far. It looks as though you have found a happy medium that works for you. I am glad to see you have started exercising some, this will keep the fat a burning. Kudos to you on getting those veggies in to break those stalls. The veggies and water are a key element to make this way of eating a success. Post often so we can see your progress.

        Hiya Mrs Shannon and welcome. Congrats on your losses so far!

        You're right... eating some fruit is better than eating a whole pie, any day! But... I'd suggest you start moving up through the Ongoing Weight Loss rungs. That way you get to add in the things that work for you, legally!

        Glad you decided to add in exercise too. That's a terrific help to any weight loss programme.

            Hi Shannon! Congrats on your losses so far and welcome to the board.

            I hear what you're saying about the way you're eating. If it works for you that's great. However, the majority of this board goes "by the book" in terms of moving up the food rungs appropriately etc. There is a reason Dr. Atkins wants us to incorporate new foods in specific order.

            All of your exercising is a really great thing! That certainly will help you become fit and healthy too!

              sounds good to me. I am back to induction tomorrow. start fresh. I was really starting to become complacent and I am not even close to my goal. so back to the book with me.Thanks for all the support. I was thinking about opening my fotki so people can see my before and during but geezzzzzzz those pics are so embarrassing.....I am a bit scared over here
