So, I am new here but have been all over this wonderful board like a rash for the last week or so, getting tips and encouragement, and am now on my 7th day of induction.
I am really, really glad to be here and I think I have been extremely lucky to find this place at the beginning. You people are a total inspiration.
I have been overweight most of my life but in the last couple of years after having breast cancer I was on Tamoxifen and it just got crazy - started induction last week at 245 lbs, and 5'4". Finished the Tamoxifen now, so ready to lose it. Has anyone else lost weight after being on it?
I began thinking if I could just get under 200 I'd be happy, but it is now dawning on me that I can do SOOO much better than that!
Have lost 8lbs, so I know I have been doing it right even though probably most of that is water, and apart from one day of terrible headaches I feel great.
I was about to post a hello yesterday but got interupted, and it would have said that I have been totally by the book and was finding it easy. Love the food, enjoy cooking so have not been bored and as I never had a sweet tooth don't have any sugar issues. Bread was (WAS!!!) my poison, weirdly I don't miss it at all.
BUT to-day came my first big challenge. Eating out. In a totally wonderful Italian Restaurant. I did my best, but am hoping I have not blown my chances of a clean induction.
I've been using Fitday and have no idea how to account accurately for what I ate tonight, but I sort of saved my carbs up for this evening. This is what I had, do you think I am still ok?
Starter: Mushroom and spinach soup, with basil and cream and I'd say there was some butter involved too. No flour used in making it. Somehow managed not to eat from the basket of GORGEOUS bread on the table!!
Main: Fillet Beef, with buttered string beans. Sauce made from juice of beef and cream and garlic, no flour. BUT I also ate 2 small slices of fried potato.
They just sort of found their way on to my fork before I knew what was happening.
No dessert. Black coffee. No wine and drank about a pint of water over dinner.
I THINK I am not too bad. Would you call that a broken induction and start over? Or just carry on and see what happens?
Have I posted this in the wrong place?
