  • It's time....

My name is Cora, I am a military wife and a mother of 2. My kids are 2 and 4yrs old. I have been struggling with my weight since my daughter was born. Last year I lost almost 20 lbs with exercise alone, it took me almost 6 months but I was proud of myself. Well, I stopped exercising b/c I began working on my medical assistant certification. Its been over a year now, I've gained back 20lbs and then some, I am now at 206 lbs, only 20 lbs less then when I had my daughter. My goal is to be 150, my pre baby weight, I am so fed up with being overweight. I did atkins after my first pregnancy and was very successfull untill I became pregnant again. I dont know why I took so long to do it again, but here I am, I hope that this site along with my will power is what I need to stay strong and get back my body that I once had and I know that my husband wishes I still had! SO wish me luck, I start right now! I will be back to tell you about my progress once I get past my first few days which is my biggest struggle. After reading all of your success stories I cant wait to share mine with you!

Hiya Cora and welcome! Glad you hopped back on the Atkins wagon.

Pregnancies are so often a disastrous (weight-wise, I mean) parenthesis in womens' lives. It's so easy, when tired and coping with small children to forget about yourself and how you want to look and feel. You are so wise in coming back to Atkins. Soon you'll feel healthier, more energised and trimmer... and that can only have a positive effect on the way you raise your kids.

Looking forward to reading of your successes. We're rooting for ya!

Hi Cora! Welcome to the board. Sounds like you've had some success in losing weight before. You won't need any luck, just a committment to yourself to stay the Atkins course! It's all healthy eating, you can do it!

Thanks you all for the supportive comments! It has been a very successfull week, I have been very strict with myself. I will weigh in on monday morning, I cant wait! I feel less bloated already. This is so exciting, im glad I started again, those first few days were rough though, my biggest triumph this week though had to be last night. I baked 4 dozen peanut butter cookies with hershey kiss on top and I did not eat one crumb!!!!!! IF i can do that I know that I can make it through the weekend. Take care everyone and I will let you know how the weigh in goes.

Good job on not eating a single crumb when baking cookies AND not having a single hershey kiss!

Look forward to hearing about your pounds lost on Monday!
