  • Hello

Hey everyone!! I am 26 yo and I just completed my first week of induction yesterday. i lost a total of 10 pounds (first it was 12, not sure how I gained the 2-kind of bummed from that Anyway, this is my second time on Atkins. The first time I lost a total of 90 pounds. After two children back to back, including sugeries I have gained that weight back and more.

I am not sure how it is going to work this time with the children and a fairly new career, but I am hoping for the best. My husband took the scale away from me today and hid it because I was obsessed with weighing myself 5x a day.

I am hoping that this board can help with that obsession and help me to achieve my goal.

Hey Desyre this is my second time around too. I hope everything works out for you. I have to learn to stay away from the scale as well because i get really down when I don't see the weight drop but we need to stay strong and we of all people should know that if we stick to the diet it will work. Stay strong and I'll be here everyday for motivation and support.

          Re: Hello

Good for you Desyre! 10 lbs is awesome. The scale is an evil thing sometimes. I know for me that it sets my mood for the day. If there's a loss, I'm great, if theres a gain, I'm bummed for the day. I try and just weigh in once a week.

Instead of obsessing about what the scale says, measure your acomplishemnts on how your clothes are fitting, on how you feel mentally and about the compliments your'e getting.

All the best to you. Bonti

As far as seeing how easy/hard it will be to stay on Atkins with a new career, I can vouch that once you decide you are dedicated to this WOE you will see how simple it is to stay and alter your meals around it. I used to make excuses for not going back on Atkins (this is my 3rd go at it) and once I restarted again (2-29-07) and stuck to it, I realized days turned to weeks and weeks turned to months... soon it will be a year right around the corner... and its so easy, it really is like second nature.

As far as the board goes, DEFINITELY utilize it. I started this diet with a friend in Feb. and she dropped out, now this is my support, and it's working for me.

Good luck with everything, I know you will succeed.

              Re: Hello

Just want to add my "hello" and "welcome".

You're not alone in the scale obsession... and it can be such an evil beast! Do take your measurements. Far more reliable than the scales... and no one can see what the numbers on that horrid piece of metal (and plastic) say, but we can all see the metamorphosis as you slim down!

              Happy shrinking!

                Re: Hello

Hey Desyre! Welcome to the board. 10 pounds so far is terrific! Don't sweat the scale, it will always be +/- as our bodies weight fluctuates daily!
