        Re: Hello everybody

I totally understand how being overweight afftects breathing. Up until about six months ago I had no appreciation for how people could become breathless from just bending over to tie your shoes. The awesome part of this is that we have made a decision to not live like this. This is my second time doing Inducation. The first time I lost alot of inches and weight, but then went back to the very lifestyle that was killing me. This time, Im more focused on really learning how to properly do this way of life. One thing Im looking forward to is the burst of energy Im gonna be getting within the next few days. I remember that feeling and its what kept me going through Induction. I never bothered with the book, and I can tell u that it sabatoged my success. I stayed in induction for about 4 months and probably discounted the weight loss I could have had. Now Im very serious about this and Im reading the book and the people here will answer any question, no matter how silly you may think it is. This feeling of being scared and constantly out of breath is an aweful feeling. But I promise, from previous experience things will change for you. The breathing will get easier and your energy level will sky rocket, you'll love it. Hugs to you, and hugs to us!!

                  Re: Hello everybody

Great post Robotech! Man, a year ago I might have written the exact same thing. Seriously, the snoring/sleep apnea, the walking up stairs, the Big & Tall. That was exactly me. Even our age lol.

If it helps at all you should know that 1 year later I no longer snore (even my wife says so), stairs don't intimidate me, and I can't even shop at a Big and Tall store.

I know it sounds corny but I really believe that if I can do this anyone can, and from the obvious resolve you show in your post you DEFINATELY can. You are on the right path, just follow the plan and you will change your life forever.

I believe you! You CAN do it! If you follow the book, exactly, the pounds will melt off! You may have to tweak down the road, because even legal stuff works against some of us (nuts, peanut butter, dairy--for me). With that said, this is the best 'diet' food ever. I am still, after two years, enjoying my food more and more. You'll never get bored with the food if you really look for different ways to cook your meat and veggies and try things you never tried before. Your tastes WILL change and you will crave your new legal foods and learn to like stuff you never dreamed would be a part of your menu.

                        Sunny!
People who say it can't be done, should not interrupt those doing it.

I wake up in the middle of the night suffocating on my own fat. My wife says I snore like crazy. Years ago I went to a sleep study and the doctor said I had sleep apnea and it was only caused by me being overweight. As I lost weight here and there that hasn’t been a problem. But now it has.

I need to do this once and for all, because how can someone live like this. Being so fat you can’t even sleep. Feel like you are going to die from walking up a flight of stairs. Having to wear clothes that look ridiculous because that’s all I could afford at the Big & Tall store. Missing important event because I want to be thinner for it. All these things are just grinding away at me. I have been to doctors before for everything. They say everything shows up fine on test, it’s just that I am overweight. So I don’t have a choice, I have to lose the weight, and lose it now.

I have read the book and am going to do the plan. I read about Fitday and some of the other things people do, but I am going to do it just by the book. No modifications, no extras. I am a 32 year old 5’11” male weighing at 326lbs. My goal is 170.

                            Thanks
Welcome back Robotech! I love, love, love your current determination! You do have a choice, and you are choosing to eat properly and lose weight. That's a huge first step.

Reading the book and fitday are a big part of this WOE. Going by the book is what we do best around here. When you're really eating the atkins way, there is no fooling around. It is what it is, and what it is is healthful way to eat. You will get used to it quickly. Is your wife willing to go he extra mile and cook properly for you? The food you can eat is simply glorious, a little creativity required!
