I'm started induction on the 15th but realized yesterday that I hadn't limited my crystal light to 3 and had eaten about 1/4 cup almonds every day. So I am trying to get more education and have a clean inducton. I have read most of the book and keep going over the chapters to learn more but support is invaluable.

I actually started with south-beach since I was a veggie but I couldn't find the type of support I needed and even their phase one left me with horrid cravings. I have gained 65 pounds over the past 12 years and have been tested for insulin resistance due to other symptoms. I know this is the right course for me. I know the extra weight is jacking up my insulin production. It's taken months for me to make the final commitment though and it had to start with re-learning to eat meat. I am on day 6, in ketosis and since it is TOM I haven't seen a loss but neither have I seen my regular gain. So I am spending time looking at pretty clothes I can wear once I am at my goal and trying to stay motivated in other ways.

    Re: Commitment

    Welcome to the ADBB quotianlight!

As you already know I'm sure that almonds aren't allowed on induction, nor is it a great idea to drink crystal light as it has a habit of stalling some people. In order to have a clean induction you are gonna have to start over. I personally think it is important to have a clean induction as it paves the way to success on this way of life.

That being said, there are lots of people on this board far more knowledgable than myself. So, post often and someone will surely be able to help you out with any questions or issues that might arise.

Glad you have made this committment. You won't regret it!

    Take care!

      Re: Commitment

Yeah, I was really upset when I figured out that almonds weren't okay. I just misunderstood one of the chapters in the book so I feel like it was all for nothing. Same with the crystal light. The book said the chemical in equal had to be limited and that he prefered sucrose but then the board said to limit all fake sugar to three a day. There is just so much to learn and I don't want to have to keep starting over everytime I re-read a chapter so I thought this board would be good for me.

This woe is amazing, lovely, possible, real, satisfying and it works. What else is there?! You'll do great! I only eat meat about once a day. You can add the almonds back once you get into the nut rungs, so all is not lost! This plan REALLY WORKS, so work it and see results and spread the news.
