  • Hello Everyone I'm new!

Well, My name is brandon and I found this place and figured I could use all the help I can get. So here is a little background on me.

I am 24 years old and have been overweight since i was like 10, reached 315 lbs once. Although I am 6'3" it still is aparent and have become tired of it.

I lost alot of weight about a year ago on a low fat low eating diet with decent exersize from 315 down to 235. I felt amazing.

I started atkins about 2 1/2 weeks ago. When I started I didnt weigh myself nor measure, but I weighed myself a last friday and was at 244. Today I was down to 242.

Im not sure if I may have one of those slow metabolisms or may be messing up. I have read the book and am trying to make sure I do it all right.

The first two weeks though I was drinking diet beverages with aspartame and believe it may have stalled me even though I was in ketosis non stop.

Oh well hopefully the numbers jut keep going down!
    Starting Weight: 244 on 9/21/07
Current Weight: 238 as of 9/28/07

    GW1: 200
    GW2: 185

    Slow but steady!

Welcome to ADBB Brandon, glad you found us and decided to join. I would leave the diet cola behind for awhile and try to focus on drinking water. I know for a fact the diet cokes stall me with or without aspartame. I drink one, I find I want another and another.
Congrats on getting a bunch of your weight off. Atkins should take you on to where you want to be. See you around, brady

Welcome, I am finding that carbonation and higher sodium in general affects the scale and my water intake in a negative way (you would think sodium would make me thirsty *shrugs*) There is a spot where you can post your menu and people will look at it for things that might be hurting you, but since you didn't weight yourself before you started you may have lost a bunch the first week and less the second... I'm reading that it's common.

I would recommend keeping a written diary of everything you eat. It's crazy how much stuff goes unreported on my diet if I don't force myself to log it.

Welcome to the board Brandon! I suppose I have to tell you to lay off the diet sodas for a few days also! You may be surprised to find they were indeed stalling you. I'm glad to see you're reading the book. Please feel free to ask questions, we want you to get the most from your Atkins experience!

                    Hi Brandon!

Congratulations on your fat loss so far. I'm so glad you've turned to Atkins to finish the journey (which if you do it right will last the rest of your life!).

Please consider getting your bloodwork done - the whole workup like we should all get done at our yearly physicals. That way they can test to see if your metabolism isn't working properly, and also check your blood sugar, cholesterol, etc.
