  • Restart for the last time

Hi - I'm not new to LC but to this forum. I went from about 160 to 140 last year and have gained 10 lbs back already. I know I'm heading off course.

I'll be 45 in a few months and I really wanted to be at my goal weight of 125 by then.

I've decided to get back to basics and restart Atkins on Monday October 1. I know its a healthier lifestyle for me and better yet, I feel better on it!

I already exercise 4-6 times per week, weights, cycling, and started running on the TM at the Y so that isn't the problem.

I look foward to reading all the posts. I love the support a board can give!

Welcome Tracey. I'm so glad you found this board!

You are so right about the support a board can give you. I just had a bit of a hiccup myself the past week or so, and I have been amazed at the support, encouragement, advice & straight talk I've been given around here.

I look forward to chatting with you & seeing you succeed in getting rid of those 10 pounds you gained back, plus the other 15 you want to get rid of too!

          Welcome to ADBB Tracey!

Becky is right... recognizing your triggers and so making strategies to avoid them, is half the battle.

You did wonderfully before, so I'm sure you will again and those extra ten lbs will vanish into...well, to wherever it is that the extra unwanted lbs go!! After that, you'll be well on the way to goal.

Ask any questions you might have. We're all looking forward to applauding you along the way.

Re: Restart for the last time

Wow - thanks for the warm welcomes!!!

It wasn't so much triggers but rather the inability to be prepared, for awhile. My mom was in the hospital from January through March. I had her come home with me so that we could take care of the wound and keep and eye on her. It was hard to keep focused after I had mom/dad in the house! LOL Although they were both very supportive in my WOE, the temptations of things that they kept in the house... after awhile... I just caved! I'm happy to report she is well on her way to recovery.
I've had since July to get myself back on track and I just haven't.

I'm determined that October 1 through October 31, I will not cheat! This isn't about cheating, it's about cheating myself.

I look forward to reading up on all the posts and getting back on track!

            Thanks!!

I like your "this isn't about cheating, it's about cheating myself" line. That's so true!
Sorry to hear about your mum's problems, but glad she's making a good recovery.
