Greetings all! I have been a lurker for well over a month. Started Atkins in July, lost just over 5 lbs. then completely deviated and went even beyond what my old habits were
. So I am back, on my 8th day of Induction and down 3 lbs.
I have been overweight my whole life. I am trying to break a lifetime of bad eating habits and inactivity. The biggest issue I need to work on is to change the relationship I have with food. Food has always been my soul mate, and there for me whenever I have been bored, sad, mad, anxious, happy...you name it. I know I need to distance myself, and have food become more of an "acquaintance"!
I have dreams of who I want to be...rather what I want my body to be. I know there is an athlete inside me just dying to get out, just need to squeeze her out of me. I have a "baby" girl who is turning 1 1/2 this month. I want so badly to be a fit and healthy mom she can look up to and learn good behaviors from. I can't expect her to eat veggies and go for a walk when her mommy is sitting on the couch eating cookies and watching tv.
So here I am...a newly 38 year-old, 5'6" 177 lb. female. More details to come as I plan to start journaling!
