  • Newbie to the board!

    Hi Everyone!

I'm Colleen, 34 year old SAHM to three boys

I have been on and off from Atkins for 5 years (off while preggo) I recently jumped back on the Atkins train - I am in my 4th week. I have lost 9lbs and hope to lose another 14.

    Start Date - Sept 10th
    Start Weight - 133
    Goal Weight - 110

I'm vertically challenged (5' nada), and was super happy with my weight at 110.

I started running a few weeks ago - was fitted for good shoes that work with my gait, but have had a few issues with running as of late - My ankles and knee are really sore, so I plan on resting them and continuing on with some sort of activity that doesn't place too much stress on them.

From what I've read so far, this board is awesome, I really like the positive vibe here - I look forward to posting more in the future!

      Hi Colleenieweenie,

      Welcome to ADBB

Congrats on the weight loss so far and continued success for the rest.

Have you tried swimming to ease pressure on the joints?

Hi there Colleen! I too had a giggle at the "vertically challenged". Welcome to ADBB. You'll find it a great place for support and motivation.

Kudos to you for taking up running, but if it's too hard on your knees then I agree with Alexa that swimming is easier on the joints, so a good alternative. Exercise is a sure way to shift the lbs along with doing Atkins!
Post lots and let us know how you're doing. We're with ya!
