  • New -- One week in and 5 lbs. lost. 10 more to go!

I've been reading the forum for about a week. I started Atkins one week ago today and have lost 5 pounds. I have 9 or 10 left to lose. I weighed in at 140 (5'5" and 30 years old, mother of 3) and would like to reach 126-125. I was worried that not having a lot to lose, the weight loss, initially, would be slow -- but so far, so good! I realize that I've been eating too much cheese and need to lighten up on that. I've read DANDR up through the first rung of OWL and will continue to read, as needed. I look forward to OWL!!

Thank you for the terrific recipes and all the great posts. I love reading this site!

Thanks! I am impressed with your loss. You must have a low metabolic resistance. My mom was the same way and I was always jealous when she would drop the pounds so quickly.

Its slowed down just a little but Im still losing. My daughter says its not fair that I lose weight so fast, but its a good thing considering I have so much lose. Cant wait to experience needing to lose my last 10 pounds, it will be great. I commend you for jumping on the Atkins WOL before your weight got really out of control. You will do this and will feel so good physically. Tons of energy!!

Warm welcome Sevenoclk, and congrats on your success so far. You're doing wonderfully! Good for you, reading the book.

As you haven't too much left to lose, I'd recommend a speedy transition to OWL. It takes some time to move up the rungs and find out how foods affect you, plus establishing where your CCLL (critical carb level for losing) is.

            Happy Atkineering!

Thanks! I assume you mean I should finish another week of induction and then move on steadily with OWL? i am dying to get there. i am surrounded by berries (my kids eat pounds of them). I am hoping that I have a low metabolic resistance and can eat a moderate amount of carbs and continue to lose/maintain.

              Any further feedback appreciated.

              Thanks.

Welcome! Congrats on reading the book! :reading: You will do well on this way of eating (WOE) and will make it a lifestyle quite well.
