  • Hello From Illinois

Hello, Just wanted to introduce myself and say HI!!!
I am from Central Illinois, I am 41 (wow hate it when I say that lol)
My starting weight I thought was 238 got down to 220. But noticed that my scale wasn't working right so I went and bought a new scale. Now mind you I was so proud of the 220 but when I got a new scale it read 235!! Talk about a DUH moment!! ( note to self , never buy a scale during weight loss !!). So I felt like I was kinda starting over but not really cause it just means I started higher then I thought!!
I started induction on 09/07/07 and I have added doing 30 minutes on the gazelle. Which usually equals to a little over 1.5 miles, I plan on upping my time as my knees have arthritis and have to keep an eye on them.
My Daughter who is 20 is doing the plan with me, She started a week before me and yesterday, She took my size 18 jeans home and I got into my smaller ones that have been hanging in my closet for 3 years waiting for me to do something about the weight gain. I am proud of the weight I have lost so far but know that I have a long way to go but will get there that is for sure.
Have a great day !!! Hope to get to know you all well!!!

Hi Paula. Congratulations on you and your daughter for committing to do the program together. Have you read the book? Dr. Atkins New Diet Revolution, edition 2002. It will help both of you to understand the program and make plans to be successful. How wonderful that you'll have someone to discuss your success and exercise with.

Best wishes and be sure to come here often for encouragement to keep focused on making it happen for both of you! You can do it, we are all here to help anytime you need it!!

Hello there Paula and welcome to you and your daughter! It's so cool that you're doing Atkins together. You'll be wonderful support for one another.

Congrats on your loss so far... despite what the new scales says... you still lost!
Also, do take your measurements... they're a far more reliable guage than the scales, for weight loss.

        Happy Atkineering!

I wouldn't measure more often than once a week.

I've always measured every two weeks.
