I've been on Atkins many times, and I think I keep coming back to it because it's the only diet I've ever been on where I don't feel hungry all the time. I began Atkins yet again on April 16, 2007 after I had a long talk with myself and finally got it through my head that I am a sugar addict.
My name is Lish and I live in California. I'm 45 years old, married with a 7 year old daughter. I began Induction last April after topping out at my all-time high of 388.3 (yes, I have a scale that goes over 330, and yes it weighs in tenths of pounds). As of last Sunday, October 14, almost 6 months later, I'm at 325.9 and have lost 62.4 lbs. My ultimate goal is to reach 158, which would be the low end of my 5 lb. range, 158-163. That would keep my BMI under 25, as I am 5' 8" tall.
Being that close to 400 lbs. was a real wake-up call for me. I began to fear that I would go to sleep and not wake up someday, that my body would just stop under all this weight. I want to live to a healthy old age and see my daughter grow up and have kids of her own, and now I'm on my way toward that goal!
