Hello Everybody! My best friend (who weighs all of 130 pounds) started Atkins 3 weeks ago. After 2 weeks, she was down 9 pounds. She begged me to try the plan, but I said "no way" -- feigning happiness in my 5', 194.5 pound frame. UGH. To be honest, it was my daughter, Sienna, who gave me the motivation to begin. In 5th grade, Sienna weighed 170 pounds -- and today, 140! On her own, she learned about eating right and exercising and put it to use!! I've been so proud of her -- but, I never thought I had the time or motivation to do it. Yeah, I've joined the gym (twice) and lost a few pounds, and I even tried a few "diets", but again . . . a few pounds and I went back to eating "normally". Sienna's been working hard to break 140 for about 3 months but it hasn't happened. We looked at the Plan and thought we'd give it a try, so last Sunday, 10/14/2007, we started!!!
I'm happy to say that today, one week later, Sienna is down to 136!!! And me, I'm down to 188.5 (6 pounds the first week).
I'm a forum board addict, and when I found this Board, I knew that it would help keep me interested and motivated! I've been reading, and reading, and reading!!!! There's so much information here! Thanks everybody for posting and providing insights, guidance, assistance!
