  • Today is the big day

Just wanted to say hi. My name is Roger and I am 38, I am Starting on Day 1 today, with along way to go. But as they say one day at a time.

Did Atkins 8 years, went from 320 to 240, felt great, being a fool I eventually went off. Now 8 yeas later I'm an all-time high of 352lbs. Hopefully I am back on track.

    Goal Weight 225

    What I know:
    1-Atkins WOE/WOL plan works
2-I need to always work on the behaviors and triggers that make me over eat.
3-Atkins WOL is part of the puzzle, but is not the entire thing.
4-Self-deprecation only feeds our inner ego and not in a good way.

Welcome Roger!! One day at a time is all we have...make the best of it. You've done this before so I know you can do it again. ADBB is an awesome place to come for support, knowledge & encouragement. Any questions just post & you'll get lots of help. Read your DANDR book & keep it handy for reference. Drink lots of water & get some exercise. You're going to do great! Lots of challenges going on so check them out.

Looking forward to hearing about your progress in your new way of eating/living.

Re: Today is the big day

I just wanted to thank everyone for making me feel welcome. Just reading post in the many forums has me feeling inspired and ready to make it happen. This time my goal is not Atkins the diet, but Atkins the life plan. Like some many people I have literally lost hundreds if not thousands of pounds over the years. I'm tired and I'm tired of it.

Hopefully this will be the time and place I do it for myself and forever.

PS- 1 day down and it went well.

Welcome to ADBB Roger, nice to meet you. You did it once so you know you can do it again. I can't wait to hear about your results. I am sure you will post some great numbers after induction. Browse around and make yourself feel right at home. I like your motto, one day at a time. That saying keeps me keeping on too. Good luck !!

                        Welcome Roger.

I'm in pretty much the same boat as you. I first did this in 2004 and went from 262lbs to 189lbs. I got off track gradually and found myself starting again just over a month ago on Sept 16th.

You know you can do it because you've proven it to yourself already. Keep checking the boards when you need some encouragement.

                        Happy Losing!

Hi and welcome. I'm new to the Atkins thing and have a weight close to yours. I'm beating you by two pounds though so you better catch up.

I'm looking forward to reading your posts.

Thanks for all the support and encouragement, everyone is just great.
So far 4 days of induction, today is number 5. I already feel better and have gotten rid of my caffeine addiction, I used to drink about 4-8 cans of diet coke a day. Can't say I don't miss my diet coke , but I am not craving it either.

                              Thanks again everyone!!
