Ok it was a while ago ... but you can tell from my excited post (in a slightly drunken state on Friday night/Saturday morning) that it's something I'm still immensly proud of.
I had hair ... and it was dark brown .. I had a shirt which was Chinese silk .. and bought from Harrods .. I had a great red guitar which I have since sold, and a waistline which I'm back on the road to regaining
Best of all I had a great band ...

we were miming! -
Simon Callow, keyboards and jazz cigarettes
The special 3 minute version was recorded in Abbey Road 2 .. the studio The Beatles used .. (which in itself was mindblowing) the evening before the TOTP show.
We recorded two takes, used the second .. McLean returned to his hotel, we went to the pub had a beer or five, returned to the studio and ran through some of the early Beatles hits ..
