Hi, I am trying to lose at least 20 pounds. I have heard so much about the Adkins diet. I just hope I can stick with it. It is hard to do it when you are on your own. But this website seems to be very friendly and helpful. I started on the 22nd of October and hope to have lost 1/2 of my goal by Christmas.

Hi, I have been dieting for 7 years now on different diets. I lost over 60 pounds, but the last year the weight seems to be creeping back on. I have gained about 25 pounds and would like to get it off. I started the induction part of the diet on October 22nd and I hope I can lose at least 10 pounds by Christmas. My weight seems to come off really slow. I am not big on exercising, but I am not a couch potato either. The support you give each other sounds wonderful and I hope I can stick with it.

      Hi MZLESLIE....

Welcome. Most of us have tried numerous diets that are out there. But, the thing that is different about Atkins is that you have us. (and you get to eat delicious foods and not feel miserable like you're on a dreaded "DIET") The support and encouragement here is better than any weight-loss program that is available. Everyone here really cares about each other. We are like a family....motivating and inspriring each other to keep going and make our goals. Welcome to the family!

Don't worry about the pounds coming off slowly. Just keep doing the program and it will happen. Measure yourself so you can SEE the inches melting away. Thats even more motivating than the scales. Also, read Dr. Atkins New Diet Revoltution edition 2002....so you'll completely understand the hows, whys and everything in between on this life-style change!

As for exercise...Dr. Atkins said it is non-negotiable. So, start out slow (baby-steps) and get moving. Dance, exercise, walk, weights, ((Doesn't matter what you do as long as you do something to charge your body and get it burning))

Best wishes! We're here for you...You can do it!
