I started induction on Thursday the 13th so its been about 2 weeks.
The first 2 days were horrible - I was kicking a bad caffeing habit - had just a little black coffee to get me over the hump.
The next few days were difficult because I felt so tired and run down - very good case of the Atkins flu.
Now - I really, honestly cannot believe how good I feel. I used to be a total zombie in the morning. I have sleep apnea (I have a CPAP too) and figured that was part of my morning malaise.
Turns out I was probably just carb crashed and having caffeine withdrawls.
I get up a LOT easier now and my energy level is very constant through the day. I used to get home and I was too tired to play with my kids - now I am good through midnight at least.
I have only had a fed problems with induction:
1. I ate 30 olives one day - I was jonesing for something good and I love olives.
2. A few days later I ate a 3g Atkins yogurt smoothie - it was awsome, but I guess not appropriate for induction. That was yesterday and I had my worst nights sleep in two weeks after it - coincidence? hmm.
3. I love meat, but I am just getting flavor fatigue - beef, chicken, beef chicken, beef, chicken beef, salmon, beef, etc
I found I really like spinach - I saute it with a little garlic and at the end I add some bacon bits and shredded cheese - MMM!
I made some stuffed peppers ny browning some burger with a lot of garlic and worcester sauce (watch the brand) and then mixing the cold beef with cream cheese (warm it to soften it) stuff it in a pepper half and top with shredded cheddar and olives. Too bad its 10g carb per pepper
Well, this is a great site, I will be around...
I am 34, male and I live in Austin Texas.
I am 6'5" and when I started, I was 340, now I am 330 and going for probably 230-240 weight.
