I found Atkins after just having my second little boy on Oct 16th. With my first son last year I lost alot of weight after the pregnancy but didn't work out regularly and ate like I was still pregnant...("for energy").

Well this time around I realize I don't have the energy I want..... b/c I eat too much!!! especially sugary and starchey food. So here I am, Trying my hardest to give all I can to my 2 beautiful little boys!

My start day was nov 1st

Welcome! Congrats on the new baby! I just love babies and kids in general! Join right in and we will help you get slim and healthy. I'm hoping at your height, you might up your goal weight as you get nearer. 111 at 5'6" is kinda on the low side. You need energy to chase after those little ones!

              Re: faith

Thanks everyone I'm still going strong on day 11. So far i'm down 15 lbs since just thinking about Atkins..... and starting it officially on Nov. 1st. I'm so excited it's working because people are starting to notice already. Everyone's pictures are so exciting and inspirational!!!!! Sallyseachange, chicklady, and scaleskl!! Thanks for the support!!! I better hurry and take some pics.

I think I'm going to do my induction until after Christmas. Is this safe??
B/c I don't want to mess up during the holiday's since I just started. and once I taste sugar it's hard for me to quit!

                Re: faith

Congrats on your losses so far - you are doing great!!

I can understand why you are thinking about staying on induction till Christmas, but the temptation then is going to be great - and there is a risk that you are going to get very tired of the restrictions of induction and that may make it easier to give in to temptation.

If you climb the first few rungs of OWL, you will have additional food choices that allow you to make healthy and legal dishes that feel really indulgent, so that you have less of a feeling of being deprived and temptation is easier to resist.

I found it quite hard to leave the 'safety net' of induction, but am glad I did. I still keep my carb low (generally under 30g net carbs per day) and keep most of them as veggies on any given day, but I can also vary things by adding nuts when I cook, having an occasional berry and cream dessert and so on. It makes resisting temptation an awful lot easier and takes away any feeling that I am missing out.
