  • Hi everyone.. I'm Tammy Lynn... I'm here.. and that's a start!! :)

Hey all.... again .. My name is Tammy Lynn and I'm so glad I stumbled across this board.

    Hmm.. where do I start...

I've always been pretty heavy, losing down to goal weight once, and ALMOST goal twice during my lifetime. The last time I was at goal was 18 years ago last week, on my wedding day.. I had finally hit 125. (By the charts I should have been even lower but I was ecstatic with 125. Well, the usual happend and I started gaining it all back. Within 2 years or so I was back to 150, got pregnant with my first child and was about 174 when I delievered. About a year after I had her it seemed like the weight just melted off even though I could only nurse her for a couple weeks. I hit 129.. 4 lbs shy of goal and it all started coming back on. I pretty much remained heavy and gaining for 11 years trying to lose the weight so I could try for another baby. ( I have a bad disk in my back and the chiropractor said I'd never make it through a pregnancy without being on total bedrest..) I finally decided I was going to have another baby no matter what my back did, and got pregnant at 170.. delivered at 222. (I might add that I'm only 5' 0") Again, about a year after I started dieting again.. doing low carb this time. I lost 50 lbs from Feb to May.. (yep, just 3 months). it was a very stressful time for me so I'm not sure if the low carb or the stress was actually the reason for the weight loss.. maybe a little of both. Once again I got down to 129... stopped losing and started gaining it sll back! It has now been 2 years and 6 months and I have offically gained it all back.. plus 3 pounds!

so.................. I'm back to try again.. although I'm definetely interested in anybody's tips for fooling my body into thinking it was pregnant a year ago because that seems to have been the trend! We moved to Japan this past February and about 25 lbs of the weight I gained back has been since we got here! I used to work 40+ a week, ever since I got married.. and for the first time ever I am fortunate enough to be a stay at home mom... but it's been totally unfortunate for my weight. I have now put my son in a Japanese kindergarten for 5 hours a day, and am devotin those hours to "bringin sexy back".

so that's my story.. wish it was more exciting.... but I'm looking forward to "meeting" all of you.. and counting on you guys to help me out! I need all the help I can get! Hopefully as I lose I can start returning the favor to other newbies! Hope to talk to ya'll soon!
    I CAN ... and I WILL !!

          HI Tammy!

Welcome! You'll find such awesome support on these boards.

I can relate to your story - I've been on and off from Atkins for 5-6 years - off while preggo. I too am only 5ft and delivered son #2 at 184. (I started at 110 - YOWZERS!)
I've realized that everytime I hop back on the Atkins wagon, it's a little harder. I need to work way harder to get my body to do what I want it to do. This time around, I've had to focus more on exercise. I do 45min of elliptical training on an interval program, followed by 30min. of pilates. It seems to be working - I am 7lbs away from my goal (110 - started at 133)

Again, welcome! You can totally do this!

Wow.. thanks for the replies ya'll ... it's great to talk to people that have "been there". I spent til 3am looking at posts and before and afters... I didn't think I had really lost ALL that much last time.. but now when I see pics of where I was like even 150 or so I'm just like.. holy cow.. I actually looked OK. And to think I got to the 129 and don't have any full length shots.. not a one. I still thought I was too big for pics! I will definetely take some this time! UGH!

Well...thanks again.. and I look forward to inspiring and being inspired! Have a great week!
