Hello Everyone! I just wanted to say hi and thank everyone for the support you provide one another. I know the it is very encouraging and motivating for me and I'm sure it is for everyone else. You all are fantastic and full of strength and determination!

I'm not new to Atkins. I started in January 2004 at 250 lbs. In 7 months I made it down to around 180 lbs. I have been overweight since I was about 4 years old. I felt on top of the world and I was finally able to buy clothes from regular stores. Then in July I had surgery and the first thing I wanted when I woke up was Pizza Hut AND McDonald's. I few months later I met my boyfriend and unfortunately, we both love to eat!

So now I am back up to the highest weight I have ever been, 260 lbs. I'm now engaged to that boyfriend and eventhough he loves me regardless of what the scale says, I'm not happy with myself. I have become very short of breath and the weight just keeps increasing. I started Atkins again on Thursday, November 1 and I couldn't be more excited! I have made some half hearted attempts in the past but this time I am committed. I have lost 8 lbs already and my pants are already looser.

Everyone on here knows how hard temptation is and I just want to thank you all again because everytime I want a bowl of ice cream, I just hop online and read some posts and I decide to have a piece of cheese or a glass of water.

Welcome to ADBB Serendipity, it is nice to have you join us. I can relate to the pizza hut craving, that was my food thru college and that is why I gained so much weight so fast.
Congrats on the 8 pound loss, that is wonderful. Anytime you feel the pizza hut craving coming on give me a shout and I will talk you out of it.
I am proud to see you pick up your water now to fight off those cravings, very good.
Another congrats on your engagement, post often so we can cheer you on.

Thanks everyone! I'm stalled out at the 8lbs right now but that's okay! It's 8lbs less than when I started. I'm in ketosis so I'm just waiting for the big drop

Today my coworkers ordered pizza for a lunch meeting and since I couldn't leave to get something better, I just ate the cheese and pepperoni off of the top. I've passed on candy corn, cupcakes, candy bars and donuts and tomorrow I'll be passing up cake for someone's birthday. I think my coworkers are secretly trying to sabotage me!!!

When faced with temptation, I just keep thinking, "I want to be thin and healthy more than I want these carbs!"

You all are fantastic and motivating. Congrats to you all and keep no carbing!

Kudos to you for passing on the carby part of that pizza! That's the way to make goal!
It's a good idea to always have some LC snack handy, for emergencies. Never know when you might get caught surrounded by HC foods and hungry! Planning ahead has saved many of us from carb binges.

You are already a great ADBB-er! This post you made is a perfect post. You know you are not stalled out forever (a true stall is 30+ days), you're in ketosis, you passed up the treats and keep perfect thoughts about being thinner in your head! GREAT JOB!

                      Re: Atkins Take 2

Hello Everyone! Happy Friday to you! I've been reading regularly and I must say, I am so proud of you all!

I just wanted to give you an update. When I started, I was 260.8. I had lost 15 pounds and then Thanksgiving rolled around. I made a HUGE mistake and thought that one cheat day wouldn't hurt me. Well, it did. The one cheat day turned into over a month of cheat days. I kept packing in the bad foods through the holidays. I was so ashamed of myself because I could feel that I was getting bigger.

I went to a doctor's appointment in December and weighed in at 264. I was devastated. I gained almost 20 lbs in just a few weeks. Me and carbs just don't get along. I wasn't eating 24/7, just regular meals but they included potatoes, bread, ice cream etc.

I got back to reading this site everyday and on January 2, I started again. I have lost 16 lbs to date and this time I'm not going back. I have made it clear to everyone, even my co-workers that I am not eating carbs. When they suggested Indian food for lunch, I just asked if we could go somewhere else instead because I'm watching what I'm eating.

I really want to thank you all because it is this forum that motivated me to jump back on that wagon and not fall off again!!!

So cheers to a new year and a committment to myself!
