  • New from NH

Hi new here from NH. I did the Atkin's years ago and now I am starting it back again. It is the only diet that I had success with and I need to loose 35 - 40 lbs. If I can just stick with it. Kinda a hard time of year with Thanksgivig and Christmas right around the corner but I am visiting a best friend I haven't seen in 3 years in Jan. so I need to do something. I am 41 (just turned, gulp ) married with 2 kids and I was a surrogate. Good Luck to all!

Hello there Deb and welcome back to Atkins and to this board. I think you'll love it here. You'll find that as the holidays approach there are lots of helpful threads about how to deal with them. Also lots of recipes giving substitutes to your fav holiday foods.

Thanksgiving and Christmas have loads of Atkins friendly foods too, so you might be in for a pleasant surprise at how much easier it is than you think.

Try to do as clean an induction as you can. It's the best way to kill the cravings, so you're all set to say "no" when you have to.

Post lots and share your journey with us. We're with ya!

              1-Atkins WOE/WOL plan works
2-I need to always work on the behaviors and triggers that make me over eat.
3-Atkins WOL is part of the puzzle, but is not the entire thing.

                Hi Deb,
My onscreen name is buhbye12. I just joined this forum a few days ago. I am new to all of this and am excited about the changes I know are coming!

I noticed your goal weight loss is pretty much the same as mine (I currently weigh 166 and my goal weight is 130), so I was wondering if you might want to buddy up with me for this adventure! We can keep tabs on each other and maybe make it a race or competition or whatever your style is - I just know I am most successful when I can share my ups and downs with someone who understands.

I am 35, a stay-at-home mother of an eleven-month-old daughter, and I live in New Jersey. I am plump and doughy and tired of it. I am hoping to be a size 8 by the time I go to Hawaii in March!
