  • Just introducing myself

Hi everyone. My name is Debs, I am a 41 yr old mum of 2 beautiful daughters. I am just starting out on the induction phase. and I am hoping to lose the 30lbs I gained after quitting smoking. I have tried other diets but I just end up feeling so hungry and deprived that I quit. Recently I conquered my caffiene addiction and feel that I just need to shift my bit of excess weight and to complete my healthier way of living. I've read my DANDR and it looks like my kinda food. So I'm starting today. Any support will be so appreciated.

Great job on kicking cigarettes and caffeine! Welcome to ADBB, you will do great, lots of support and good advice on the board.

    What I know:
    1-Atkins WOE/WOL plan works
2-I need to always work on the behaviors and triggers that make me over eat.
3-Atkins WOL is part of the puzzle, but is not the entire thing.
4-Self-deprecation only feeds our inner ego and not in a good way.

                Re: Just introducing myself

Welcome, Inky! I agree with everyone... kudos for reading the book as your first step. This is the only way of eating I've ever been successful losing weight with, and that's because of what you said... it's my kind of food! Even though I used to be a carb/sugar-a-holic, not having to give up the rich and creamy sauces, butter, and cheese really has made a difference in my staying power.

This board is a great resource -- I encourage you to visit often! Best of luck to you...
