  • Hello, I'm new!

Hey everyone!! My name is Kristen, and I'm 25 yrs old with a little Atkins experience, ready to try again and succeed!! I'm a stay at home mom of two daughters ages 7 (Izabella) and the other is 2 (Julianna) on Wednesday! I have had enough of being overweight (!FAT!) and recently felt I had my 'personal breakthrough' as I like to call it. Now I feel like its my time to lose weight and become a new healthier, more energetic and outgoing me.

One change I have recently made is starting to exercise, never have I done it this regularly/religiously as I am now. Usually when I tried a 'diet' I wouldn't exercise at all, besides going for a walk now and again! Anyway, I have been doing 30 or 45 minutes a cardio everyday (Gazelle) for 4 days, recently just built up to 45. I'm doing a TON of ab work, squats, stretches, modified push-ups, etc. Just at home. Anyway, I am sooo feeling proud of myself I dont mean to be bragging or anything!

I guess I'll share the facts and some goals/mini goals I hope to achieve through the atkins lifestyle.
At my heighest weight (day I had 2nd daughter) I was 206 lbs at 5' 3" . My lowest weight before I had my first daughter was 145 lbs. I had already begun gaining weight by this time (a few months prior I was 115 lbs) After having her my lowest weight was 168 lbs. (This was from doing atkins!)
Anyway after I lost some weight I just decided to stop there and induldge and I guess I lost motivation completely, because I didn't look back! And now I find myself gaining weight AND INCHES as each year passes by. Now I am at 199 lbs.

So my first mini goal is 189 lbs.
    MG2- 180 lbs
    MG3- 170 lbs
    MG4- 160 lbs
    MG5- 150 lbs
GOAL-135-145 depending on how I look.

However long it takes, I'm sticking it through til I am the size I want to be. Thanks for being here, I am going to need your support and help through this life changing journey.

PS Im planning on starting by Tuesday or Wednesday depending on which day I get my groceries done!!!
    SW/199 (Nov 19)

    MG1/189 (met Dec 5)
    MG2/179 (met Jan 5)
    MG3/170 (met Feb 9)
    MG4/160 (met Apr 17)
    MG5/150 (met Aug 1)

    Re: Hello, I'm new!

Hi Kristen. You have great mini-goals and a positive attitude that will help you meet your goals. Have you read the book? Dr. Atkins New Diet Revolution, edition 2002? I'd totally recommend reading it and using it to make your plan for success. The more knowledge you have on this WOE, (Way of Eating) the better understanding on what changes you need to make to change your life-style and have permanent success. This is the best place to get inspiration and motivation to feel good about the changes you are making and keeping a positive attitude by sharing your journey with people who care. Make lots of friends, get active in the board and don't look back....go forward to goal. Best wishes!

Dedication gives wings to our dreams and keeps them in flight! In One Word...COMMITTMENT.

Great to see you join the group, looks like you have a positive mindset. Good luck, you are going to do great.

      What I know:
      1-Atkins WOE/WOL plan works
2-I need to always work on the behaviors and triggers that make me over eat.
3-Atkins WOL is part of the puzzle, but is not the entire thing.
4-Self-deprecation only feeds our inner ego and not in a good way.
