    Hello Everyone ~

I've been contemplating starting Atkins and now I've decided I'm going to do it!! From what I've been reading on the boards I can expect some headaches and/or body aches when I stop all intake of carbs/sugars, so I've decided its better to start on Thursday (11/29/07) so when/if things get bad I'll have the weekend to get adjusted to the changes. This will also allow me enough time to read DADR, prepare menus and do my food shopping.

I must say that after looking at all of the success stories and those who are well on their way to success I am very excited to get started ~ not to sound like a broken record (b/c I know most of us feel the same way) but I am tired of being overweight! Its not a wonder why I'm so tired, I'm carrying around a whole extra person!!

When I look at the amount of weight I need to lose, it is depressing - which is why I am so grateful I found this forum b/c I need all of you as my inspiration and posting here will hold me accountable to stick with it, no matter how hard it seems to be!!

Thank you Lady Hawke, Sallyseachange and Jace for making me feel welcome!
I originally posted that I was going to start on 11/29/07, but I was too excited to wait so I went shopping got DANDR and groceries so I could start today!! I read almost the entire book (and not just chapter 11). I got up early this morning to make breakfast, which I normally skip ~ there's no way I could have waited four more days to start....I'm too excited!! I'll post my weight loss journey in the Century Club since I have over a 100lbs to lose! Thanks again for your support!

                  Re: Newbie From Arizona

Welcom, don't get disapointed, everyday will be a new day and you can start your day over at any point of the day. I have started my day at 3 in the afternoon because I got off the diet earlier that day. I am tryinng not to get so upset and down on myself if I mess up, but instead I try to console myself and keep on keeping on, so far I have lost maybe 5 lbs and I have been on it for 3 months or longer. I know that is not much but it is not another 5lb gain. IF by New Years it is another 5 lb, then I will be happy. Don't look back or you may be tempted to go back, just keep looking forward and you will get there, maybe not as fast as you wish, but the turtle always wins. Good looking forward
