Hello! My name is Brittney and while I'm new to these forums, I'm not new to low carb lifestyles! I'm a stress eater and a really frustrating relationship many many years ago found my 4'10" frame at 160 lbs. I worked as a vet tech and it was a photo of myself next to a Saint Bernard (and the realization we tipped the scales with the same numbers) that triggered my trip to Atkins and a thinner self. At 115 lbs, I told myself I'd never see 160 again!
I kept it at just under 125 lbs despite going back to carb eating (but healthy) until more recently.
Roughly 1.5 years ago, my then-fiance (now hubbie) and I moved back in with my dad to help care for him during some employment issues. Top that with planning an out-of-state wedding, 4 funerals and a busy season at a sedentary workplace (ie more stress) -- and my plan to LOSE weight for my wedding saw my emotional endulges lead me right up to 154 lbs for the big day!
And I've now surpassed my "never go there again" weight of 160 up to my current 165 -- and I'm worried for my health. I don't look as heavy as I am, so I wasn't too concerned. It was when I realized walking to my car after work with my husband the other day that I was short of breath.. that I realized its not only embarassing, but I'm toying with my life.
We're relocating to a new state this week and all is hectic and the kitchen is packed, so I'm not starting my Induction until we're settled on December 6th, but wanted to get in the swing of support early!
