Afternoon, everyone! My name is Ang, and I'm 27, married with 2 little girls. I found this site by doing a search for Atkins for women. Hubby and I have been trying to do Atkins for the last year, and though he has done well, I haven't. No willpower, I love junk food, too busy with work and the kids to eat right, you know, all of the usual excuses that really don't mean anything!
When we started Induction the first time, hubby dropped 30 pounds right away, and I got discouraged because I didn't! I followed Induction to a capital-T, and probably only lost a few pounds. I felt great, though! I've had headaches for years, and they had stopped! But...that wasn't what I was looking for at the time. So, I quit, and have followed the same pattern every few months or so. The headaches came back, but I told myself that it's okay, because the diet must not work well for women. Another meaningless excuse!
Anyway, I've been doing Induction again for the last week and a half again. I think this may be it! I've been following a system to get my house/family/life in order (www.flylady.net), and it's going great! I actually feel like a grownup now! What I'm looking for here, specifically, is Atkins womens stuff. (How's that for specific, ha!) My hubby still does Atkins and is slowly losing more weight. Yada-yada-yada, good for him, I'm ready for this to work for me!
That's my novel, and I'm sticking to it! Glad to be here, I've read some of your posts, and you sound like a great bunch of guys and gals!
Oh ya, I suppose I should post the poundage, huh? Forgive me, I'm new to this message board thing! I'm 5'7, and weigh 240. For now, I'd be thrilled with 10 lbs lost for now. Long term, I'd love to be back to my old pre-kids weight of 150, with adjustments as needed after that!
