I started atkins 2 months ago and lost about 30lbs. I have since gained it all back due to taking everyone elses advice about "needing" grains etc. I regret giving in. My body reacts differently to sugars and flour/grains and my caring friends don't seem to get that.
So here I am, only having lost a couple of months progress and ready to do this for life. I have a lot of weight to lose, but my goal for now is to hit the 400's, then the 300's and my goal of all goals is 250. I'm one of those people that are truely big boned so 250 will look fine on me and at 250 I hope I don't have too much excess skin.
One thing I am discouraged about....men. lol, it's not fair they lose so fast!!!! My hubby can half *** it and still lose weight. I read the threads about losing 200+ and they were all men. I am trying not to let that get to me because any loss is a good loss.
I will probably be on induction for a long time as I have loads of weight to lose, but I accept that reality.
I'm ready to do this!
I am starting on Wednesday as we need to do proper grocery shopping and won't be able to do that until Tuesday night. I'm looking forward to it.
I am starting a 540lbs. I look forward to sharing my journey with you.
Welcome to the board learning2loveme! Happy that you joined us here. I had to lose 150 pounds when I first started. I stayed on induction for quite awhile too. About ten months without a cheat. The weight just melts off! Not only that, I became a much healthier person for it too. No more Type-2 diabetes and no more high blood pressure. This is the best lifestyle anyone could ask for. Post often, make friends, and join challenges. I look forward to seeing you here!

welcome to ADBB Learning, glad you found us and decided to join. I was glad to see you over in the CC club, I welcomed you there too. Just take it day by day and you will soon be in complete control. You can do this, come here and post often. We are one big family in this fight together. Hope to see you around lots, brady
Yep it's the "Journal Chats" forum. It's a great place to make friends and find support and encouragment along your journey.
There is also a "Journal Stats" forum where you can start a journal to keep up with your personal stats (weigh-ins, measurments, menus, or anything else you want to keep track of. It's your own personal space. Noone can post in there but you.

The difference between try and triumph is just a little umph!
You can do this! It's going to come off pretty fast in the beginning, but the road is a long one. It never ends. You have to change your life. This is not a diet. This is a way of life and the sooner we all realize that, the sooner we'll all be a peace with it. Just don't stop, don't give in to temptation, plan ahead, know your foods and do it for YOU.
I'm so glad you found and joined the board. So many of us depend on each other to get through the day sometimes, we're a family. We welcome you with open arms.
Welcome, learning2love. So glad you're here. This is a great place -- when you feel tempted or even when you fall, folks here understand and lift you up again (and again and again and again, if necessary).
I noticed you said you might have to stay on induction for a long time since you have a lot to lose. Actually, many here find that they lose even more (or at least, just as much) by moving up the rungs to OWL. And, for me (and lots of others), having the additional variety of foods is SO important to not feeling deprived. I highly recommend you consider not staying on induction too long. Atkins allows you to eat so many wonderful foods -- so I urge you take advantage of it!
Best of luck to you. While I know it seems like you have a lot to lose, in the great scheme of things, time flies.... you'll be seeing big progress before you know it!
Hey love, welcome to ADBB, sounds like you absolutely KNOW what works, and WHAT DOES NOT...grains.
My body does so well on low carb, and Atkins is one of the very best out there, and there is so much support amoung our people here...You are gonna feel good again in no TIME!
Welcome.

Good For You!!! Stand up to the well meaning friends and remind them that you have made a decision and you need their love and support.
I admire you so much for coming back to Atkins. For me, Atkins has gotten me right on track of eating RIGHT! I am on day 16? something like that, no cheating, no desire to cheat because I feel soooo good I only want to feel good. lol And I am having a blast cooking!
My husband is skinny, 165 pounds, 6' tall, never a weight problem and eats like a pig!!! But those of us here, ARE allergic to wheat and grains and sugar, imo.
