    Am new to group. I have one week in and got on the scale today to find I've lost 8.2 pounds. I am excited and find this site very inspirational. Did not even consider cheating. I hope it continues to be this easy.

    Hi Decrease... I started about a week ago, too... and I have similar starting and goal weights to you. I'm only down about 6 pounds but because I didn't have a scale until a couple days into my start, I don't know my exact start weight. That's okay though... I feel great and I'm going strong! This is not my first go at adopting this WOE. I've had great success with Atkins in the past, but didn't move through the stages properly and gained weight back. This time I'm determined!! You're right about this site - it is inspirational! By visiting everyday I find that it helps me to stay positive and focused on my goal. I hope you'll feel the same way, too!

      Welcome to ADBB decrease, congrats on the 8+ pound loss. Good for you.
      You have come to the right place to shed a few pounds. Be sure and drink plenty of water too. Enjoy the board and all it has to offer, I look forward to seeing you around and a lot less of you to boot.

        Thanks for welcoming me. Vickie, looks like we can help each other out and be accountable to one another. Like you said, our weight and goals are very similar.

            What I know:
            1-Atkins WOE/WOL plan works
            2-I need to always work on the behaviors and triggers that make me over eat.
            3-Atkins WOL is part of the puzzle, but is not the entire thing.
            4-Self-deprecation only feeds our inner ego and not in a good way.

                I read ur post and remebered back when I was just a week in...and and i started close to ur weight, I thought i would be at my goal by now but wishful thinking lol Congrats on the loss!! Like u i tried this WOE before but I didnt even last the whole indution phase but this time I was determined and found this site and everybody is sooo supportive now almost 6 months later im still at it and NEVER will eat like I have in the past, its a life change not just a quick fix!!( i learned that the hard way lol) GOOD LUCK ON UR JOURNEY!!!

                  You are doing so well. Keep up the good work. I started 3 days ago and will be glad to hit the one week mark. Do you find yourself no longer hungry? How is your energy and mood?

                      Thank you for all of your support. You guys all look great and have had great success. I was overwhelmed with all of your resposes this AM. With a group of people like you to support each other, how can any of us go wrong? Lori, forunately I am not finding myself hungry. I keep things like cheese, hard boilded eggs, ham, turkey, etc.. portioned out in the fridge for when I am, so I will not cheat. I have a sweet tooth and with it being the holidays am being given all kinds of goodies by by neighbors. I am just keeping them all together and I offer it to other people when they come over, or I give it away. I am going to a Christmas party Friday and have wrestled with whether or not I will have a beer or a glass of wine. I have decided not to. I just picture myself what I looked at at 25 and keep my focus on that. To get back down to that size is more important than any cookie, loaf of bread, or glass of wine.

                        Thank you everybody! You all have great stories and are doing so well. Lori, fortunately I am not finding myself hungry. i do keep tunafish ready to go in the fridge and portioned out ham, turkey, cheese, etc... to make things easily accessable for when a I am hungry so that I don't cheat. I find that to help out a lot.

                        How do you guys get the weight loss tickers on your signatures? I wen to the website and created one, but I don't know how to get it with my signature.

                          It's good that you're not hungry these days. It means you are probably in ketosis, which brings on a natural appetite supressant feeling. Woo Hoo!

                          Kudos on the planning ahead with a well stocked fridge too
