    I am Layla.This is my first post and I just wanted to say hello,and I am excited to get to know you all.
    My trouble with weight started when I became a mommy,but I have always been a binge eater.In high school I was very active so I never gained weight.I stayed at size 6 until my DS was born.I have tried WW,fat flush,low fat,cabbage soup and every diet in between.LC is the only thing that I can live with for the rest of my life.My highest weight was 275.I want to get down to 140.

    Hi Layla! Welcome. This is a great place to get involved with others who have the same goals of getting healthy and fit. Get active in the forums, challenges, journals and make lots of friends ... which will keep you focused and motivated.

    We're all here to help each other and glad you've joined us. Have you read the book, Dr. Atkins New Diet Revolution,edition 2002? It is the best way to get started in understanding the program and how it works. Best wishes...post often and let us know how you're doing!

      Hi there.Thanks.Yes,I read the book.I think that I need to read it again.How do I get those cool things at the bottom of my post,like the abs challenge mini-poster looking things?And your I am commited thing.

      BTW.You look wonderful.Congratulations on your weight loss.

        Hello there and welcome Layla! Nice to have you with us.

        It's good that you want to re-read the book. Make sure you have the 2002 edition. It was the last one that Dr A wrote in its entirety before his death, so hasn't had anyone else messing around with it.

        If you want one of those "I am committed" badges in your siggy, all you have to do is join (and complete) the next "I'm Worth It" challenge. It won't be for a while yet, as one has just recently finished, but sooner or later will come around again.
        There are lots of other challenges which are fun and motivating too. Join anything that takes your fancy!

        Keep us posted as to your progress. We're looking forward to cheering you towards your goal!

          I love your name! Welcome and have fun... if you click on my ticker it will take you to the web site where you can set up your own ticker...

          I've been working hard earnign badges and joining challenges... that's how you get all the stuff!!! So join a challenge! This will soon be the beginning of the month so it'll be easy to find something you'd like to join. Sure helps with the motivation. I wish you luck in your new journey. I've read the book about 5 times and keep wanting to read it again. It's so good, and there is something new that always catches your eye with each read... something new sinks in.

            Welcome aboard Layla, I think you have found the right stop.
            40 year old male 6' 3"

            What I know:
            1-Atkins WOE/WOL plan works
            2-I need to always work on the behaviors and triggers that make me over eat.
            3-Atkins WOL is part of the puzzle, but is not the entire thing.
            4-Self-deprecation only feeds our inner ego and not in a good way.

              Welcome to the board Layla! It's nice to see that you plan on re-reading your book. that's the best way to stay on track! the other great way is to come to the board often for support and friendships.

                              we all had those fluffy pics, beautiful. you're in the new you challenge so i'm guessing you're going to be less fluffy in no time at all!
