  • Hi All!

Hi! I am new to this forum and have been reading some of the success stories. I am excited to be starting out. I am 24 and I have two children. My youngest is 5 months old and my daughter will be 3 soon. I look back at high school and wonder what I was thinking when I thought I was fat! I weighed 155 and I am 5'9". When I had my daughter I got up to 260 - then roughly 220 with my son, and now lingering around 200. My goal is 160. I have to admit my downfall is the constant flow of Ramen noodles and macaroni & Cheese in my home. I end up snacking right along with my daughter and I fail to remember that I do not have the metabolism of a 3 year old.
I have tried Atkins before and lost 15 pounds -then I found out that I was pregnant with my first child and basically let go of my self control. My mother started at about the same time and has since lost 80+ pounds.
Thanks to all of you for being here. I am hoping and confident that having a board like this will help me to stay on track this time.

    Re: Hi All!

    Hi Jennifer,
I just started (again ) today too. I'm hoping this is the place I can get the support I need. I'd say good luck but we know luck has nothing to do with it. So have a great first day filled with lots of successes.

          Welcome Jennifer!
What a great time to start Atkins (or re-start!). A new year starting, a fresh slate, and the pressure of Christmas/holiday eating is over! I'm sure you'll have success, and as long as you post when you need help, we're all here if and when you do!
Thought you may want to start off by joining a challenge...don't be intimidated, challenges are a great motivator and an excellent way to meet others on the board:

            Re: Hi All!

LOL The most I ever weighed pregnant was 138 pounds! What I wouldn't give to weigh what I did right before delivering my second child. I remember weighing 125 and being embarassed when for the first time, my SIL gave me clothes that were too big for her instead of the other way around. Now, I'd be tickled plum pink to weigh 150 pounds.

We can do it with Atkins! You need to do it now while you are young, 'cause it gets harder the older you are.

People who say it can't be done, should not interrupt those doing it.
