  • Losing my "quit smoking" weight!

In June I made a great decision to quit smoking cold turkey. It worked great, and I had a good support system, but I gained 30 pounds after I quit.

Now, I'm ready to lose those 30 to get down to my healthy weight of 115. So far, I joined a gym, which I have been religiously attending 4 to 5 times a week for 30 minutes of cardio and resistance training, and I've been on Induction for three weeks.

Unfortunately, I've cheated twice. The first time is was sugar-free candy and the second time was yesterday: my relatives were over and my aunt made an apricot pie. So I had a slice of that about 1" thick, then a 1/2" slice of gingerbread and a 1 1/2" slice of cocoa coffee cake. I also have not found a way to meet the H20 quota everyday either! ARGH!

I'm out of ketosis again, but am fine starting all over since I'm already at the beginning. I have lost 10 pounds so far and am proud of myself, but am now ready to just go at it full steam ahead for good until I lose all that weight!

    Welcome to ADBB!

water is important, really important, its not really that much, it just sounds like a lot, i have a 1litre bottle, if i drink that twice over, i've met my quota for the day, but i always at least double that!!
Good work on joining the gym, most people do that after starting this WOL, remember Atkins is not just a quick fix, its a way of life, as soon as you stop doing, like any other diet, if you go back to your old way of eating you will gain back the weight and most probably plus some more!!

Congratulations on the 10 pounds you have lost so far, thats a fantastic start!

      I'll ditto everything Emma said.
Also, try keeping a high fat snack on hand always... it might just save the day when relatives bring out the apricot pies, coffee cakes and gingerbread.

Congratulations on your 10 lbs lost and kudos to you for getting to the gym.
