  • Introducing....sas2sap

This is not my first time on Atkins but it will be the last. Although I have visited this forum frequently over the past few years I only recently joined and have never posted. I'm the typical yo-yo dieter who is so ashamed about her weight that I do everything possible to avoid drawing attention to myself - including avoiding posting on a web site where nobody knows who I am. I realize that this is the typical time to start jumpstarting a diet program for many of us and I fall into that category. Here is my story in bullet points.....

1993 24 years old, married, 2 children, running daily and in extremely good shape at 125 pounds (5'8")

1996 lost a baby in the 26th week and told I'd never have more children -turned to food for solace

1997 Surprise! gave birth to my third child - I weighed in at 205

1998 - 2000 Had two more miscarriages and almost lost my husband to a serious motorcycle accident - definitely used these events as an excuse to feed my face

2001 Surprise again! gave birth to our last child - I weighed in at 261

2004 Started Adkins at doctor's advice - dropped down to 203 pounds in just under six months - quit Adkins thinking I could go back to eating "normally" and keep the weight off

Now current weight 267 - no more stressful episodes to falsely blame, only me and my incredibly poor eating habits and lack of exercise. My life is wonderful! 4 beautiful children and the most loving, accepting husband imaginable. I have a job I love and terrific friends. I'm ready to take back control of my body and keep it! No more hiding. Please email me at eightsmallhands@yahoo.com if you don't notice me (sas2sap) posting regularly. I need all the help and support (with a few kicks in the backside thrown in for good measure) that I can get.
